About Silicon North
The North's of England's largest tech and digital business network.
Silicon North is the connective infrastructure for the North of England's technology economy.
The North is home to thousands of technology businesses, founders, investors, universities, employers and innovators. Together, they represent one of Europe's largest technology economies.
Yet much of that activity remains fragmented.
Silicon North brings the Northern technology ecosystem together in one place, making it easier to discover people, companies, events, opportunities and ideas from across the region.
It isn't another city network.
It isn't another annual conference.
It's a year-round platform that helps the North connect more effectively, become easier to discover and present itself more confidently to the rest of the world.
Why?
The North is entering a new phase.
- Greater devolution, the Northern Growth Corridor, the Northern Arc and continued investment in innovation are reshaping how the region works together. But infrastructure isn't just roads, railways and office space.
- Modern economies also need connective infrastructure. Somewhere to discover opportunities. Somewhere to find people. Somewhere to see what's happening. Somewhere that represents the North as a whole, not one city, or city region, at a time.

Silicon North exists to make those connections easier. We help people discover each other, build relationships, share knowledge and create opportunities across the Northern technology economy.
There Are Three Parts to It
Members
Members are the individuals inside the network. They attend, contribute, stay connected, and build relationships over time. It's free to join as a member.
Supporters
Supporters are the organisations inside the network. They can share updates, post jobs and events, and stay visible to the people they want to reach.
Partners
Partners share the platform with us. They have presence across it and take part in and shape the activity around it. Some may step into an advisory role and help steer the group.
Events
Silicon North runs events across the country throughout the year. Running events all year round keeps us all connected outside of infrequent or annual larger events.
We also host our Supporters' and Partners' events as well as highlight other interesting events to our members.
People attend events to reconnect with established contacts and make great new connections outside their usual circle. Different companies, different roles. Different perspectives and insights into market information, hiring plans, funding, who is building what and so on.
Members attend because they understand that new connections and repeated contact matter, now more than ever.
Some events are open. Some are curated based on size, focus and purpose.
Supporters
The Supporters Directory lists the companies that have joined Silicon North. Each Supporter has a profile on the platform. Supporters can post jobs, publish relevant news/blog content, and list their own events.
This gives them space on the platform and a route to stay active outside of event attendance - showcasing what they are doing and staying visible within the network.

Partners
As well as having all the benefits that Supporters enjoy, Partners collaborate with us at a marketing and platform level. They are present across the site and in our offline activity. Not just at individual events, but throughout the network, all year round.
Partners appear across Silicon North: On the site. In communications. Around the events, content and activity that run through it. They can support and co-create events as part of the programme.
Partners can also take part in shaping our focus and activity.
Some may step into an advisory role and contribute to how the platform develops.
