Accessibility
Last updated: 1 May 2026
Our commitment
We want Silicon North to be usable by as many people as possible. We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and we treat accessibility as an ongoing improvement, not a one-off project.
What works today
- The site is responsive and works on mobile, tablet, and desktop. - Pages can be navigated using a keyboard. - Images include text descriptions where they convey meaning. - Colour contrast is checked against WCAG AA targets.
Known limitations
We are honest that some areas need work, including:
- Older PDF documents (such as historical brochures) may not be fully accessible.
- Some embedded third-party content (e.g. maps) may not match WCAG AA in all places.
- Automated and manual audits are ongoing — we expect to find and fix more issues over time.
Tell us if something is wrong
If you find something on the site that is hard to use, or you cannot access something you need, please let us know. Email hello@siliconyorkshire.com with the page URL and a description of the issue, and we will respond within 5 working days.
Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice.
